After a three-month construction phase, the Bharati research institute started operations in April 2012. The research institute located in the northeastern part of the Antarctic, in the Lasermann Hills, is one of the coldest regions in the world. This means it is cut off from the rest of the world for several months, which was a real challenge during the construction work. The challenge faced by the cooperating companies was to cope with the logistics of the project, because the station can only be reached by boat for four months in the summer, before being cut off from the rest of the world. Work on the production of the containers and the design of the finished research institute was carried out in Germany. (Source: www.heinze.de)
