The façade of Sweden's first zero-energy hotel in Solna stretches out brilliantly. Very close to Friends Arena, home of the Swedish national soccer team, Skanska AB has completed a multi-million-dollar construction project of the highest order. Some 22,400 square meters are spread over 11 floors, 336 rooms and 88 apartments for long-term residents.
The special feature of the futuristic-looking building is its low energy consumption. It meets strict indoor climate requirements, which is also related to the non-toxic building materials and the ventilation and lighting conditions. Here, every square meter is truly used sustainably, as the facade is equipped with solar cells.
In terms of fire protection, of course, a hotel like this also has to be state of the art. With the Fibershield®-P fire protection curtains, even very large wall openings can be effectively sealed off. And they are also energy-saving: Thanks to the "Gravigen" drive, the curtains close without any external energy - sustainably ingenious!
